About the Firestone Park YMCA Tread Together 5K

The course runs on an actual tire company test track, which makes for a genuinely unusual surface underfoot. It is smooth, purpose-built pavement in a loop configuration, so the route is flat with no traffic to contend with. The surroundings are industrial rather than scenic, but the novelty of running where tires get tested tends to stick with people.

Chip timing is in use, and results post quickly after you cross the line. Awards go deep into age groups, so runners across a wide range of ages have a real shot at hardware.
