About the Finish The Ride and Finish The Run Santa Clarita

The event is held at West Creek Park in Valencia and combines cycling and running on the same morning, with routes ranging from a short kids' loop to a long canyon ride with real elevation. The running courses are mixed terrain, and the whole event is built around road-safety advocacy, founded after a hit-and-run left the organizer seriously injured. Halloween costumes are encouraged, with awards for the best.

Sag wagons and repair stations support the ride routes, and aid stations with water appear along both the rides and the runs. Food trucks and an expo set up near the finish area, and the event runs into the early afternoon. Packet pickup details will be sent out closer to the event via email.

Common Questions About the Finish The Ride and Finish The Run Santa Clarita

Will I finish last at the Finish The Ride and Finish The Run Santa Clarita?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 40:05, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:32:34, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Finish The Ride and Finish The Run Santa Clarita a good first 5K?

It is a small race (156 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Finish The Ride and Finish The Run Santa Clarita?

The 5K winner ran 17:27 while the median finisher took 40:05. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
