About the Finish Strong 5k/1 Mile Fun Run
The course leaves hard-surface paths behind and moves out into open fields along Bixby Road, which gives it a different feel from most local trail races. The ground underfoot is softer and the surroundings are more open, with a sense of space that paved courses rarely have. It draws students, families, and church groups alongside the usual runners.
Packet pickup runs the evening before and again the morning of the race at a church on Bixby Road, which also serves as the hub for the start-area activity. Race-morning pickup opens well before the first wave goes off, so there is time to settle in without rushing.
