About the Father's Day Run

This race runs out of Woodward Park, a large city park in Fresno. There are a couple of distance options, so groups with mixed abilities can show up together and each pick a route that suits them. The course is designed to be finished as a family outing, not a time trial, and the surroundings are park paths rather than road.

Packet pickup happens the morning before at Fleet Feet in northeast Fresno, with a second chance to grab your bib at the park on race morning. The post-race spread includes root beer floats, which is about as fitting a finish-line treat as a Father's Day race can offer.

Common Questions About the Father's Day Run

Will I finish last at the Father's Day Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 2.2 Miles field finished slower than 28:09, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:18:09, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Father's Day Run a good first 2.2 Miles?

A field of 578 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 2.2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Father's Day Run?

The 2.2 Miles winner ran 11:09 while the median finisher took 28:09. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
