About the Jackson CDC 5K
The course runs through the Huntington neighborhood, a stretch known for its older homes and distinct architecture. The route loops out from Jackson Elementary School and comes back to the same gate, so you pass the finish area before you are done. The streets are residential and the pace of the neighborhood gives the race a quiet, unhurried character.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at the Jackson House, a neighborhood landmark on Kerckhoff Ave, with race-morning pickup available at the school gate as well. Street parking is spread across several nearby blocks. There is also a costume competition before the start, which draws a crowd well before the race goes off.
