About the Fast Track Cross Country Open
The course runs on the MacNider cross country loop near Hoover Elementary School, a classic grass course with patches of mud, dirt, and roots depending on conditions. After a short opening stretch, you settle into a repeating loop, which means you see the same landmarks more than once and can gauge how you are doing against other runners. Spikes are recommended.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Xtra Mile Running, a local running store on Schaumburg Road, with race-morning pickup available at the registration tent. Parking at the school is limited, and the organizers note overflow street parking on Amherst Drive and Colwyn Drive nearby. There is a team competition option if your group wants to race collectively.
