About the Fall - Mud Mountain Dam Marathon & Half Marathon

The marathon starts at Mud Mountain Dam and drops steadily toward the finish near the McMillin Bridge, tracing the Carbon River through farmland and forest the whole way. Everything is paved, the descent is long and consistent, and the course qualifies for Boston because of how much elevation it sheds. The half follows the Foothills Rail Trail from South Prairie, a gentler version of the same idea.

The two courses share a finish line in front of the McMillin Bridge, so friends and family waiting there will see both waves come through.
