About the Faith Mission Turkey Stampede
The race starts on Jackson Street and heads through the north end of Elkhart, looping into the Strong Avenue historic neighborhood, where the streets are wide and the houses are worth looking at. Longer-distance runners extend into that same area further before circling McNaughton Park, which has one real hill. The shorter walk option crosses a bridge over the river to reach Island Park.
Packet pickup is spread across several days before Thanksgiving, with locations in surrounding towns as well as in Elkhart itself, including a local running store and a health and aquatics center. Race-morning pickup is available at the aquatics center on Jackson, though lines tend to be longer. Parking lots are scattered near each starting corral, and the organizers publish an interactive map showing exactly where each one is.
