About the EPIC 7K / 15K

The course starts at a park on the west side of Fort Wayne and follows the river greenway south into Foster Park, passing alongside a golf course before turning back the way it came. The surface is paved greenway path throughout, and the river stays close for most of the route. Both distance options cover the same ground, with the shorter one turning back earlier.

Common Questions About the EPIC 7K / 15K

Will I finish last at the EPIC 7K / 15K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 7K field finished slower than 51:35, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:15:30, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the EPIC 7K / 15K a good first 7K?

It is a small race (39 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 7K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the EPIC 7K / 15K?

The 7K winner ran 37:15 while the median finisher took 51:35. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
