The course climbs onto Emerald Mountain from Howelsen Hill, winding through aspen-lined singletrack. The trail has real character, the kind of terrain that earns the views. Hikers are welcome on the longer option, so the field spreads across the mountain at different paces. This race closes out the local running series season, and series awards are handed out at the finish.
