About the EDRRC - Ryan's Run Superhero 5K, Villain 10K and Kids Fun Run
The course winds through Pawling's streets in a loop, and runners doing the longer distance cover that same ground twice. It is a road race, and the loop format means you learn the route on the first pass. The race has a comic-book costume theme, so expect some capes and masks at the start, though dressing up is entirely optional.
The race starts and finishes at Lakeside Park, which also hosts a short kids fun run along an out-and-back path through the park. Proceeds go to a local charitable foundation, which gives the morning a purpose beyond the finish line. The kids fun run goes off before the main event, so families with young children have their own moment before the field heads out.
