About the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow Glow Run 5K

This is an evening glow run, so the streets around Forsyth Central High School are lit up and runners come dressed to be seen. The route winds through the surrounding neighborhood and finishes back at the high school football stadium. The race benefits a foundation that helps school paraprofessionals and teachers move into new roles in education.

Packets can be picked up the day before at a local running store in Cumming, or on race day at the high school before the start. The start and finish area at the stadium gives the evening a bit of a pregame feel, with the lights already on when you arrive.

Common Questions About the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow Glow Run 5K

Will I finish last at the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow Glow Run 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:50, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:00:59, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow Glow Run 5K a good first 5K?

A field of 421 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow Glow Run 5K?

The 5K winner ran 16:29 while the median finisher took 36:50. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
