About the Donuts and Dogs 5K Fun Run/Walk

The race runs through Southwind Park and welcomes dogs on the course alongside their owners. Before the start, there are donuts from a local bakery for everyone showing up. A costume contest runs earlier in the morning, so people tend to arrive dressed up, pets included. The timed run and the untimed walk happen at separate points in the schedule, giving the morning a loose, stretched-out shape.

Packet pickup the evening before takes place at the Animal Protective League building, where the race benefits the animals in their care. Some pickup is also available on race morning, though there is no on-site registration. If you are bringing a dog, they need to be leashed, vaccinated, and comfortable around other dogs and people.
