About the Dog Days of Summer
The course circles Lake McIntosh entirely, splitting time between pavement and dirt trail. Mountain views open up on one side, farmland on the other, and there is wildlife along the water. Dogs are welcome to run with their people, which shapes the whole mood of the morning.
The start is at Dawson Neighborhood Park, near a pirate ship playground. Vendors, music, and games fill the area before and after the race. Part of the entry fee can go directly to the Longmont Humane Society, through an opt-in at registration.
