About the Disco Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk

The Disco Dash runs through Tribble Mill Park, starting and finishing at Holly Pavilion. The course has a shorter loop option alongside the main route, so people running different distances share the same morning. Music and a disco theme run through the whole event, and the race benefits an organization that supports adults with special needs.

Packet pickup opens before the start at the pavilion. A coffee and hot cocoa trailer from a local café sets up at the finish, which gives the post-race area a reason to linger. Age-group awards go to competitive finishers, but the atmosphere tilts toward participation over placement.

Common Questions About the Disco Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Disco Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:30, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:03:15, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Disco Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk a good first 5K?

It is a small race (91 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Disco Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk?

The 5K winner ran 21:48 while the median finisher took 33:30. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
