The course starts and finishes at the Culpeper Sports Complex and loops through the surrounding countryside. The terrain is mostly flat with some rolling stretches along the way, and the route is road the whole way. Views open up toward the mountains as the course moves out of town.
The sports complex has plenty of parking close to the start, and restrooms are on site. Cold watermelon and snacks are out at the finish line.
