About the DENFIT 1776
The race runs from Cape Vincent East End Park out through the village, hugging the river to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse, then back. The route is paved and flat the whole way. Everyone carries an American flag, which turns the morning into something you do not see at most road races. Runners doing the longer option go out and back twice.
There is an aid station at the lighthouse turnaround. After finishing, light refreshments are set up at the park. The bike parade for local kids kicks off around the same time the race wraps up, so the park stays lively if you hang around.
