About the Delaware Turkey Trot

The course starts and finishes on East Winter Street behind the county library, threading through downtown past a theater and local restaurants before turning onto Sandusky Street. The real standout is a pedestrian bridge crossing above a highway, which breaks up the route and opens up briefly before the final stretch back to the start.

The race runs on Thanksgiving morning, and portions of the road stay open to traffic with cones dividing runners from cars, so staying in the marked lane matters. All proceeds go to an autism advocacy organization, which draws a lot of families out on the holiday.
