About the Deer Mountain Challenge
The course starts near the corner of two streets in downtown Ketchikan, follows a road out to a trailhead, then climbs straight up Deer Mountain to the summit. The elevation gain is serious, packed into a short distance, so this is a genuine uphill push from start to finish, not a rolling trail run with a hill or two mixed in.
