About the Deck the Hull's Jingle Bell Run, Walk, and Tot Trot

The route winds through downtown Lexington, and runners are handed bells to attach to their shoes before they head out. The course covers the same streets twice for those doing the longer option, so you get a good look at the historic blocks either way. Dogs on leashes and jogging strollers are welcome, and holiday costumes for both people and pets draw real effort from the crowd.

Race-morning registration opens early at the H&J parking lot, which also serves as the start area. Bringing cash speeds things along at the registration table. There are costume awards alongside the usual top-finisher prizes, so showing up in full holiday gear is genuinely worth it.

Common Questions About the Deck the Hull's Jingle Bell Run, Walk, and Tot Trot

Will I finish last at the Deck the Hull's Jingle Bell Run, Walk, and Tot Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 30:47, and the last recorded finisher came in around 47:05, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Deck the Hull's Jingle Bell Run, Walk, and Tot Trot a good first 5K?

It is a small race (82 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Deck the Hull's Jingle Bell Run, Walk, and Tot Trot?

The 5K winner ran 19:18 while the median finisher took 30:47. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
