About the Daytona Beach’s Easter Beach Run

The course runs straight out and back along the beach itself, hard-packed sand near the water's edge with open ocean on one side and open sky on the other. There are distance options for adults and shorter sprints for kids, all starting near the Bandshell on the Boardwalk. A line-dance warm-up happens on the beach before the gun goes off.

Parking is in a garage near the start, though it is not free. The start area is right at the Boardwalk, so there is no shuttle or long walk to the line once you park.

Common Questions About the Daytona Beach’s Easter Beach Run

Will I finish last at the Daytona Beach’s Easter Beach Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 4 Miles field finished slower than 43:59, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:22:07, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Daytona Beach’s Easter Beach Run a good first 4 Miles?

A field of 363 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 4 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Daytona Beach’s Easter Beach Run?

The 4 Miles winner ran 22:56 while the median finisher took 43:59. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
