About the Dance Away 5K & 1 Mile

The route runs through downtown Breaux Bridge, past the historic storefronts and streets of the old district, starting and finishing at Veterans Park. It is a road course, flat through the heart of town, and the costume contest adds some color to the starting area. First responders have their own competitive category.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at Buck and Johnny's, with race-morning pickup available at the park. After finishing, runners head to a zydeco breakfast at the same venue, where showing your bib gets you through the door and a Bloody Mary is part of the spread.
