About the Couve Clover Run

The course runs along Vancouver's waterfront and through some of the city's most historically layered stretches, passing Fort Vancouver and Officer's Row before looping back toward the river. The terrain is gentle with only a short climb or two breaking things up. Several distance options mean different legs in the same group can all run and finish together.

Packet pickup runs the day before at a local running store, with a second window on race morning at the waterfront start. The post-race party draws in nearby pubs and breweries, so there is food and drink within easy walking distance of the finish line.

Common Questions About the Couve Clover Run

Will I finish last at the Couve Clover Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3 Miles field finished slower than 37:55, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:19:45, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Couve Clover Run a good first 3 Miles?

With 1,010 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Couve Clover Run?

The 3 Miles winner ran 16:55 while the median finisher took 37:55. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.

Where can I train for the Couve Clover Run?

Join a local run club. Vancouver Run, Grub and Chug Club and others in Vancouver welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
