About the Corona Classic 10 Miler
The Corona Classic flips the usual race format: slower runners go out first, faster runners chase them down, and nobody knows who has actually won until the final stretch. The course runs out and back along open roads and sidewalks toward Sullivan's Island, passing traffic lights and possibly a drawbridge, which the organizers treat as part of the challenge rather than an inconvenience.
The race starts outside Blue Sky Endurance, with check-in opening before the first wave. Runners submit a predicted finish time when they register, and that prediction determines their start position. A separate category rewards those who race without a watch or phone, relying purely on feel. Awards go to the first finisher, the closest predictors, and a handful of other categories announced at the finish.
