About the Cops & Monsters 5K Run/Walk
This is a Halloween-themed race on a university campus, where costumes are encouraged and splash zones staffed by local first responders are set up along the route. The mood is more neighborhood block party than race-morning nerves, and the entry field tends to run the whole spectrum from serious runners to parents pushing strollers in costume.
Parking is spread across campus and most lots are free on weekends, though visitor pay lots are available near the center of campus if needed. Check-in happens near the start and finish area on race morning, so arriving a little early gives you time to get sorted before the start.
