About the Compassion Coast 5K
The course runs through and around the Wharf complex, a waterfront entertainment district in Orange Beach. The route stays within and near the complex, so the surroundings feel more like a stroll through an active venue than a trip through quiet neighborhoods. The start and finish are both near the Ferris wheel, which makes it easy to orient yourself and find people after you cross the line.
Pre-race and post-race activities are set up along the main street at the Wharf, close to the start and finish. The race benefits a fund that supports employees facing hardship, so the crowd on course tends to include a lot of coworkers running together.
