About the Columbia River Classic Run
The course starts and finishes at a submarine memorial park where two main roads meet, which gives the start area an unusual, open feel. The longer distance heads out along the river and turns around, with aid stops along the way, including one at the entrance to a park and one at the turnaround where energy gel is available alongside water.
Packet pickup the evening before is at a brewpub in Richland, which makes for an easy place to collect your bib. On race morning, pickup moves to the submarine memorial park itself. The race benefits Camp Patriot, a nonprofit that takes disabled veterans on outdoor adventures.
