About the Colorado Women's Classic - Westminster

The course runs along Big Dry Creek Trail, a paved path with sections of hard-packed gravel and a few wooden footbridges that can get slick in wet weather. It is a straightforward out-and-back feel through open trail, and leashed dogs and strollers are welcome. The finish area is at a outdoor terrace space attached to a shopping promenade.

Packet pickup is the day before at a running store in Westminster, which saves you the morning rush. Parking near the start is limited, right along the south side of the promenade, with more options in the surrounding lots. Post-race, the expo area has a cupcake tower and a women-focused vendor expo, and there is a raffle tied to donations for a local nonprofit.

Common Questions About the Colorado Women's Classic - Westminster

Will I finish last at the Colorado Women's Classic - Westminster?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:12, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:15:43, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Colorado Women's Classic - Westminster a good first 5K?

It is a small race (112 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Colorado Women's Classic - Westminster?

The 5K winner ran 20:36 while the median finisher took 36:12. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
