About the Cleveland Space Race
The course runs through the NASA Glenn research campus, a facility that is otherwise closed to the public. You pass working buildings and research infrastructure, not a park path. Costumes are encouraged, and the crowd tends to dress for it. Actual astronauts are present on race day, which gives the start area a different feel than most road races.
Only U.S. citizens may enter the grounds, and a security check at the gate is part of the process. Plan for extra time before the start. The event is capped, so the field stays small.
