About the Chasing Dreams 5K Run/Walk
This is an evening glow run through Louisville, held after dark so participants show up in lights and neon. The course is a standard road distance, and the atmosphere skews toward families out for a good time rather than a fast finish. The race benefits a nonprofit that grants wishes to children facing serious illness, so the crowd tends to carry that warmth with it.
Packet pickup happens in the hours before the start, so you can arrive early, get settled, and still have time to glow up before the gun goes off. Kids run free, which keeps the start line lively. The fastest male and female finishers each take home an award.

The Chasing Dreams 5K Run/Walk has been held every year since at least 2025. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 23, 2026.
