About the Chase the Shadow Free Fun Run

This is a free, untimed run along the Fort Wayne Trails network, with a bicycle pacer setting off ahead of the field and everyone else trying to finish the route before that lead rider does. The course is marked throughout. Participants are encouraged to wear black, whether that means a ninja costume or just something dark from the closet.

The event collects non-perishable food donations at check-in for local families, so bringing a few canned goods or pantry staples is part of showing up. There are trophies for the top male and female finishers and for the top younger finishers, though the whole thing has the feel of a neighborhood outing more than a race.
