About the Chase the Rainbow 5k Run/Walk

The course starts at the entrance to Bridgeway Station, heads up and over the bridge there, then winds back to the finish. The bridge is the one real feature of the route, a short climb with a descent on the other side. It runs in the evening, so expect some atmosphere along the way.

Packet pickup is at Bridgeway Station in the hour before the start. After the race, Bridgeway Brewing Co is right there with live music and a post-race beer for anyone of legal drinking age. Free photos are taken on the course and at the finish line.

Common Questions About the Chase the Rainbow 5k Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Chase the Rainbow 5k Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.2 Miles field finished slower than 38:39, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:05:35, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Chase the Rainbow 5k Run/Walk a good first 3.2 Miles?

A field of 462 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Chase the Rainbow 5k Run/Walk?

The 3.2 Miles winner ran 19:29 while the median finisher took 38:39. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
