About the Champagne 5K

This New Year's Day race starts and finishes at Bridgeway Station, with a sparkling cider stop along the course and champagne waiting at the finish for those old enough to drink it. The course is certified, and professional photography is covered, so you do not need to worry about bringing your own. Live music and announcers keep the post-race area going.

Packet pickup opens before the kids' fun run, which precedes the main race, all on New Year's Day at the same location. The post-race party and awards stay on-site, so there is no hunting for a separate venue afterward.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2026 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Champagne 5K

Will I finish last at the Champagne 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 34:13, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:12:01, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Champagne 5K a good first 5K?

A field of 732 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Champagne 5K?

The 5K winner ran 15:52 while the median finisher took 34:13. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
