About the Charity Vyshyvanka Walk/Run - 5K
The course runs through J. Owen Grundy Park at Exchange Place, right along the waterfront. It is a flat route with open views across the water, and the setting gives it a distinctly urban feel without much shade. The race raises money for ambulances sent to Ukraine, and runners are encouraged to wear traditional embroidered Ukrainian clothing or blue and yellow on race day.
The start is at Exchange Place, which is accessible by PATH train. Post-race, the atmosphere tends to lean toward the gathering side, with flags out and people in embroidered clothing. It is organized by a local Ukrainian community group, so the crowd reflects that, with a lot of familiar faces and a clear sense of shared purpose.
