About the Cere-bration Walk, Roll, Run Mount Vernon

This is a charity event centered on brain injury awareness, so the crowd includes survivors, caregivers, families, and supporters alongside runners. There is a timed route for those racing and a shorter fun walk for everyone else. The atmosphere leans toward celebration rather than competition, with a Survivor Celebration Zone at the finish area.

Lunch is served in the Celebration Zone after you finish, and there are raffles and team recognition on top of that. The event raises money for a statewide brain injury nonprofit's programs, so the fundraising side of things is as much a part of the day as the running.

Common Questions About the Cere-bration Walk, Roll, Run Mount Vernon

Will I finish last at the Cere-bration Walk, Roll, Run Mount Vernon?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 1:08:42, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:32:19, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Cere-bration Walk, Roll, Run Mount Vernon a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (70 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Cere-bration Walk, Roll, Run Mount Vernon?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 25:28 while the median finisher took 1:08:42. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
