About the Catch that Turkey 5k
The central joke is the point: a YMCA staff member in a turkey costume gets a head start, and catching that person is the goal. Runners who pass the turkey get entered into a raffle for baked goods from a local bakery. Walkers are welcome. The race benefits the Mount Desert Island YMCA.
Packet pickup and registration happen the morning of the race at the Mount Desert Island YMCA before the start. The course falls within a park that requires a pass for adult participants, so it is worth sorting that out ahead of time.
