About the Carlson Law Firm's Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot

The course runs along Pepper Creek Trail, so you are on a path rather than open roads for most of the morning. It is a Thanksgiving race, which means the crowd is a mix of regulars and people who have just been pulled out of bed by family members, and the pace reflects that.

Packet pickup happens in the days before the race, and there is no race-morning option, so plan accordingly. The organizers announce the specific pickup windows closer to race day, so keep an eye on their announcements once you have registered.

Common Questions About the Carlson Law Firm's Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot

Will I finish last at the Carlson Law Firm's Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 37:24, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:20:31, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Carlson Law Firm's Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot a good first 5K?

With 1,002 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Carlson Law Firm's Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot?

The 5K winner ran 15:52 while the median finisher took 37:24. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
