About the Academie Musique's Boo Run 5K & Fun Run
This is a Halloween costume run in Temple, and costumes are encouraged across the whole field. The race supports a local arts school working to buy and convert a former elementary school building into a permanent space for music, art, and community programming. Prizes go to the best individual and team costumes, so there is real incentive to go all out.
The event draws people at every pace, from those racing hard to those there mostly for the cause. Post-race has the feel of a neighborhood gathering, which makes sense given what the entry fees are going toward.
