About the Capital City Pride Stride 5K
The course runs through downtown Des Moines as part of PrideFest, starting and finishing inside the festival grounds. It is a point-to-point route, so you do not double back on yourself. The surroundings are loud and colorful, with music and crowds along the way. The terrain is flat pavement, and the energy comes from the crowd more than the course.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local brewery, with a second window on race morning near the start line. Both options are close to the action, so you are not driving across town on the day.
