About the Cape Fear Christmas Wine Run 5k
The course runs through Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery, so the surroundings are actual wine country: vineyard rows, a distillery, a museum, cottages on a lake. The terrain is what you'd expect from a winery property, open and scenic rather than technical. Age group awards go to the top finishers in each category, and there is wine at the finish.
Race-morning pickup is the only packet option, opening well before the start. The winery's restaurant, The Cork Room, is open for early dinner afterward, but reservations are required separately. The race goes on in rain, and portable restrooms are available on the grounds.
