About the Canaan Valley Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k
The course runs through Canaan Valley Resort, a mountain resort setting with the kind of elevation and open terrain you do not find at most road races on the East Coast. The surrounding valley is broad and quiet, with forested ridgelines in most directions. Expect real hills rather than a rolling course that merely suggests them.
Packet pickup happens at the resort the evening before each race day, with a brief window on race morning as well. Post-race includes beer and snacks at the finish. The resort is booked out for the weekend, so staying on-site is an option if you want to make a full trip of it.
