About the Caloosa Fest

The trails at Caloosahatchee Regional Park give this race real variety. The shorter course rolls through grass, packed dirt, and mild single track, staying on the gentler paths through the park. The half marathon reaches further into the system, mixing open perimeter stretches with winding single track and technical sections. Carry your own water if you are running the longer distance.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a running store in Fort Myers, with race-morning pickup opening well ahead of the first start. Parking is on grass inside the mountain bike park, and staff direct you when you arrive. Canopy tents and crew support are welcome in the open space near the start.

Common Questions About the Caloosa Fest

Will I finish last at the Caloosa Fest?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 37:55, and the last recorded finisher came in around 51:51, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Caloosa Fest a good first 5K?

It is a small race (32 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Caloosa Fest?

The 5K winner ran 24:09 while the median finisher took 37:55. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
