About the Bubble Blast Kathleen DePiero Memorial 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

The race is a benefit for the local YMCA's annual campaign, supporting scholarships for youth programs and swim lessons, and is dedicated to the memory of a former board member who started the event. The course runs through North Royalton with chip timing for the longer distance and no timing pressure on the shorter route.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local brewery on Wallings Road, with race-morning pickup available at the Y itself. Awards go to top overall finishers and age group winners in the main distance, and refreshments are set up at the finish line.
