About the Brooklyn Cider House Spiked Apple 5k

The course runs through the grounds of Brooklyn Cider House, an orchard and cidery with scenery shaped by apple farming and open landscape. The route is a short out-and-back or loop through that property, and the setting does most of the work. Runners and walkers both show up, and the pace of the morning reflects that.

Pickup for your bib and race materials is on the morning of the event, opening well before the first wave. After you finish, there are cider donuts and a pour of cider at the property. If you placed in your age group, results go up online and awards are waiting at the registration table.

Common Questions About the Brooklyn Cider House Spiked Apple 5k

Will I finish last at the Brooklyn Cider House Spiked Apple 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:26, and the last recorded finisher came in around 24:31:15, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Brooklyn Cider House Spiked Apple 5k a good first 5K?

A field of 519 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Brooklyn Cider House Spiked Apple 5k?

The 5K winner ran 18:31 while the median finisher took 33:26. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
