About the 18th Annual BRIDGE2BRIDGE Danville

The course heads down Bridge Street, where cobblestones under your feet signal the start of something a little different. Runners cross the Dan River on a closed traffic lane of the MLK Bridge, then pick up the Riverwalk Trail toward Dan Daniel Park. The route is a charity run at its core, raising money for local cancer patients, and that purpose is felt throughout the morning.

Everything, including packet pickup and awards, is centered at Danville's Community Market on Craghead Street. Pickup opens the afternoon before race day, and organizers push hard for participants to come then rather than the morning of. There is a solutions table on hand for registration questions if anything comes up.

Common Questions About the 18th Annual BRIDGE2BRIDGE Danville

Will I finish last at the 18th Annual BRIDGE2BRIDGE Danville?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 55:48, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:26:21, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 18th Annual BRIDGE2BRIDGE Danville a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 400 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 18th Annual BRIDGE2BRIDGE Danville?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 36:47 while the median finisher took 55:48. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
