About the Brazos Bend 100
The course runs through Brazos Bend State Park on wide, smooth pathways that shift between crushed rock, shaded hiking trail, and horse trail. There is essentially no elevation to speak of, just one brief, gentle rise, so the effort stays consistent throughout. Alligators are a real and common sight along the route, especially near the lakes. Road shoes work fine under dry conditions; wet weather changes that calculus.
Packet pickup happens at a running store in Katy earlier in the week, then moves to the park the day before. On race morning, a shuttle runs from parking to the start at Elm Lake Pavilion. Runners, crews, and families are encouraged to set up personal support areas on the grass around the start and finish, with tents and gear left out overnight.
