About the Bound for the Sound

Both courses start and finish on Hartford Avenue facing Sound View Beach, so the ocean is right there at the end. The longer course has some gentle rolling to it; the shorter one is genuinely flat and tends to draw faster times. The race benefits the local volunteer fire department, which gives the whole morning a neighborhood-fundraiser feel.

Parking is free, and volunteers direct traffic into a lot right next to the start. If that fills, there are two overflow lots nearby, both a short walk away. Post-race food and drinks are set up at the finish area.
