About the Bodie's Light 5k Fun Run/Walk
The course starts at Heritage Park and loops Capitol Lake a couple of times, staying on paved paths that work well for strollers. The terrain is flat and the surroundings are open water and parkland. The event is untimed and raises money for a local nonprofit that supports families who have lost babies to stillbirth, so the mood is quiet and purposeful.
Parking is available in a couple of lots nearby and on surrounding streets. Check-in happens before the run begins, and day-of registration is accepted, so you do not need to plan far ahead to show up.
