About the Bluebonnet Trail Run 50 Miler • 50K • Marathon • Half Marathon • 10K • 5K
The course runs through Turkey Bend Recreation Area on the shores of Lake Travis, where the trails drop toward the Colorado River, follow the shoreline for a stretch, then climb back through technical single-track. The terrain is rugged in places, with switchbacks through wooded backcountry and open meadows thick with bluebonnets during peak season. Longer distances repeat the big loop, so you learn the climbs well.
Camping is available at the park, and the start and finish are based at the campsite hub, so overnight runners can set up close to the action. The race benefits a youth running nonprofit, with optional donations accepted at registration.
