About the Big River Race
The course runs along the Columbia River on a paved riverfront path through Chiawana Park, heading out and back with the water beside you the whole way. The terrain is genuinely flat, with almost no elevation change across any of the distance options. There are no road crossings to worry about, and the park has shade trees and open grass near the finish.
Aid stations are spaced out along the route with water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks. The themed stations and cheer squads along the way give the course some personality. After finishing, there is a live band and post-race food in the park, and the riverfront setting makes it a reasonable place to stick around.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Big River Race has been held every year since at least 2024. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
